Maybe you have been waiting years for this moment, maybe you dropped lucky and it happened immediately. However long the wait it’s yours now, that patch of bare earth measuring 10x20, your very own allotment. But what to do? Where to start? How to prepare? What can I grow? Can I have chickens? I bet there is a million questions racing around your head right now – there were when I first started...
Fear not! Help is at hand. Generally, you will find allotment folk friendly and full of advice, and I’m here to help you too! I aim to make this the most comprehensive guide to allotting on the internet. Bit by bit, step by step I’ll add more and more information on this site as I come across problems on my own allotment. I will share the problems, and share the solutions too.
There are a few sites out there already, but they seem as fragmented and contradicting as most of the advice from my allotment neighbours. But rest assured, if it’s on this site, it’s because I’ve been there and done that and I know what works – and more importantly, what doesn’t.
So stick with me and read on, over the coming weeks, months and years I’ll be adding more and more stuff. But for now check out these popular articles...
